Cosmic-Pickle Construction (part 1)
Meet my Cacti: I call them Pickles

They need new homes!
I have been inspired by
succulent micro-cosmos
and now I want to build!

At first, I thought about using my shoe:
you see...it recently broke...
...and when it did, I thought of Dali's
shoe sculpture. I feel inclined to make
use of the thing that once made
me feel beautiful/sexy/feminine
However, I do not wish to revive
the shoe as an object for beauty...
...but rather, I'd like to construct an apocalyptic acolyte:
"the end of human use, the rise of green agitation"
...Bear with me here for now, I am leaning towards
Lebbeus Woods and his parasitic-architectural
interventions:
Of course...this stems far from
the original, happy house hunting
for the Pickles. Therefore,
allow me to present something
that I think I might like to make:
....This, I hope, will allow
the Shoe Intervention
to evolve on it's own...!
TO BE CONTINUED!

Madras (draft mag)

bead ready...
Madras: a colorful textured fabric
Its a wonderful, exotic word that, I believe might suit the kind of 'intimate' architecture I am beginning to brew. All summer, I sketched out little contraptions fabricated by textures, colors, lines and simple shapes. In my head they seemed to braid themselves into little colorful knots. The title of this upcoming collection was inspired by a Lucky Brand shirt I recently purchased: a graphic tee with a peacock and the following words, "Madras" . For now, I'm going to keep this title. I'm attracted to it and challenged by the potential prestige it might bring. I'll eventually post a sample book of what is to come, though I seriously need to push myself! Let's see !
strings of color
About a year or so ago, I went to Guatemala with my mom. We collected a few knick knacks, drank tons of coffee and saw many beautiful landscapes. One of the treasures I gathered was from a native indian who sold me 100 hand-woven bracelets! I decided to turn it into a necklace by gathering the ends together! And there is the result! (the other necklaces you see were also made by me) more to post!
