painting with a twist

Today I went to check out Painting with a Twist, an open-to-the-public studio where someone teaches an audience how to paint. Its a fun, laid-back program and no art experience is required! Its actually pretty fun! Apparently, these guys are planning on expanding to the Falls area (as the one I went to was at Midtown), which ought to be a pretty neat ordeal. One of the business partners met me at work a couple weeks ago and invited me to check out this unique nightly event...so I did. I sat through one class that was teaching us to replicate one of the teacher's pieces. I happened to be attending a private event, so everyone, naturally, knew each other ( I think it was someone's birthday) but man, that didn't stop us from having a blast! This private event was held by a group of SASSY older women who wore red berets, were drinking waay to much wine and had little name tags that said things like: Picassa, or Sali-Dali. They gave me a name too! Rocky van Gogh. Kind of cute, neh? At the very end, we all gathered for a group picture, displaying our newly created pieces of art. It was a lot of fun and the business is certainly a neat concept. I wonder if I'll get to participate again!
