What is intimate architecture?
In my book, it is a design that resinates the body
...it is an artefact that frames the body as a physical and central concern.
Furniture, Jewelry, Ceramics...all of these are engaged to the body in a very real and physical practice. This scale, that which makes the relationship between the object and the body personal is a challenge and art that designers and artists face: how we sit, what we use to write with, the size of the watch, the way you hold your phone, the diameter of your bowl...these are the details that represent the zeitgeist of our time, our way of thinking and living.
